Description
This is a sleeping male mallard duck.
I recently found out that when they sleep, they sleep with one open eye, which makes the ducks leave half of their brains awake. This phenomenon is known as "single hemisphere".
As a result, ducks can sleep with half of their brain at a time while the other half stays wary of potential predators.
I find this very facinating!
The Fine Art America watermark will be removed before the print is sent to any potential buyers. Thank You.
