Description
My son enjoying a day of winter steelhead fishing on the beautiful Alsea River near the town of Alsea, in the coastal mountain range of western Oregon.
Fisherman come from many miles away to fish in this river for steelhead fish that are making their way upstream from being out in the ocean for a few years. They travel upstream to their spawning grounds from which they originated from.
Steelhead trout in this river range from about 8 pounds to over 20 pounds in size and sometimes even larger than that.

Beautiful shot!! I love the lush green scenery! So how fish did he catch! What year did you leave Mo.? We have driven through Fort Leonard Wood serveral times. I love the woodland part of Mo, as my husbands family had a farm in the Ozarks in the middle of the Mark Twain Nat. Forrest.. We built a small home there when he got out of the Navy in 79. We are in the Boot Heel now, mostly farm land with only small scattered patches of forrest left. Anyway, enought rambling for now! :D v.f

Thanks so much Dianne... well as I remember correctly we got skunked that day... no fish caught.. :-) It was fun anyway just getting out in the great outdoors and being with my son. :-)
