Description
This is the "master" artist ... my father, Jessie James Boren
One of the only images I have of him in his later years.
He had his own art studio down in Manitou Springs Colorado for many years. I am sure many of his works are still circulating around the world. He sold lots of his paintings to people from all walks of life and from many countries.
If I had even a fraction of his talent I would be so blessed....

The medium is different, but never doubt that you have inherited his artistic talent. A wonderful tribute, and I firmly believe you will meet again.

Nick, what a lovely tribute to your father. It is comforting to know his artwork is still enjoyed. His creations go on. And it is wonderful that God gave you a passion for artistic beauty and an incredible artistic talent with your camera. You create beautiful works that bless others!

Nick -- how wonderful, how sad, how poignant. Comparing ourselves to others is a losing proposition. We all have our talants -- unfortuneatly most just don't explore enough. You are a very good photographer... enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

Nick, a rare visit from me these days, but I could not feel more blessed than to turn up just as you posted this image of your father. He fascinates me because his exceptional way of seeing obviously flows through you also. I'm sure when you do meet up again on the other side,it will be as if no time has passed and almost as if you knew each other all along. That's how I imagine it to be anyway!

I thought I would re-post this image of my father again since it is Fathers Day. Unfortunately I never got to know my father. He and my mother divorced when I was but 5 years of age. What I do know about him was that he was an extremely talented artist Here you see him with one of his Colorado landscapes. He loved painting landscapes. He also did a lot of abstracts. I was fortunate to be able to see him one time when I was in my early 20's and that is how I was able to capture this image of him with one of his masterpieces. I never inherited his artistic skills with the oil brush.... so I decided to pick up the camera and see where it could take me... I post this again in honor of my late father on fathers day.... When this life is over, I will be looking forward to seeing him in the next.

I see YOUR pride in his eyes... The confidence of knowing "a job well done" ... You are an exceptional talent in your own right - You chose a different path of artistic expression, but you certainly achieved and continued the family excellence! I'm sure your Dad is proud in spirit and love... fv :)

This is such a nice portrait of your father and a great tribute to him! A wonderful legacy he has left behind. I bet he is still painting up in Heaven right now! And you....you say you wish you had even a fraction of his talent? My dear Nick, you do! Only difference is, your Dad used a paint brush, and you, a camera! You are indeed blessed and we are blessed to be able to view all your beautiful photos! f/l
