Description
This is the top portion of the Heceta Head Lighthouse on the beautiful Oregon Coast.
This particular lighthouse has gone through some renovation and should be completed soon.
As you can see the salt water has taken it's toll on this lighthouse as well as the buffeting coastal winds.
The watermark will be removed from image before it is sent to purchaser.

Love the atmosphere you created here. Capturing it with the light on adds warmth which adds great contrast. :)

Nick, this is a very fine image; the lighting/time of day works well in creating just the right mood for the subject. I like the framing of the lighthouse, too. Excellent work! l/f

I understand that it is supposed to be a warning light but it looks like a warming light...inviting. Beautiful. f/v
Nick Boren replied:
It can be both types of lights AnnaJo... :-) I'm glad you like the shot and thanks for the fv..

Nick, I've taken photos from this exact spot on the trail. I understand some idiot shot out the historic glass since the last time I was there -- they should be hung up in the town square for all to see!!! In the meantime, this is a wonderful shot :) Have you ever been up the narrow trail directly behind the lighthouse and the lawn? It's not for the faint of heart, but the views are spectacular! :) F/V
Nick Boren replied:
Yes you are correct Mick... someone did shoot out the lens on the lighthouse but I don't think it was this one... I think that was at Cape Mears lighthouse? At any rate I agree with you on the punishment they should get. They did catch the criminals that did it... but not sure how much of a sentence they got. I have gone up the narrow trail your talking about and it is a sensational view.. In fact I think I have a few images from that experience. I will have to try and dig them up.. lol Thanks so much for your comments and the F/V Mick. :-)
